Intro to the UK

Recently, upon finalizing plans to study abroad in the UK for the spring semester, I got in touch with Mookster hoping to potentially meet up and explore once I had arrived. A couple weeks into my stay, we had a general plan in place, and we set out for a weekend of adventuring through north-central England with a long list of places to check out.

While we struck out on a few spots, as was expected, the locations we did access were interesting and varied, from a small metal works to a couple of large cavernous mills, plus an interesting run-in with some (rather loud) local kids inside a downtown office building. Meanwhile, the distance between stops gave me a chance to see more of the beautiful countryside; the hills and villages offered all kinds of scenic vistas and layers of history. The food certainly wasn't bad either!
Overall, the trip was a great time, and I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to overseas exploring. Excited to see what else this lovely country has to offer.

Great to see your shots! You definitely got some unique angles of the places we went to, I'm so used to shooting in full wide angle anything else looks very different.

Looking forward to the next trip too ;)

I love the emptiness and dead space of #5, the lack of any objects (with the exception of debris) Nice shot! The details and intricacy of the fireplace in #6, such gorgeous symmetry. An odd observation, not sure if anyone else sees this, but the perspective in #8 catches my eye. The hole seems to pop-out for me, while it clearly is the opposite. Curious to see if anyone sees the same.

Glad to hear your first UK adventure went smoothly, hope to see more photography and stories from you soon!

Thanks man! I'm looking to eventually get a wide-angle, but in the meantime I've been pretty happy with my stock lens.

Much appreciated! Interesting catch on #8, must be the lighting. The room with the fireplace (6) was gorgeous in person!

Really great shots here! Just got back from the UK two days ago around that area. Looks like you hit some pretty cool industrial locations.

Thanks guys! I haven't spent much time with industrial locations in the past, but in this area of the country there seem to be mills and warehouses around every corner .
