Kings Park saying hi

Hello everyone I'm new to the forum. I'm a 19 year old going to school in Syracuse NY but I grew up on Long Island. Since I was 13 I've been exploring on Long Island but mostly Kings Park. I would say 99% of my exploring has been at Kings Park but I've visited Pilgrim State and Creedmoor Psych. I haven't been anywhere with a camera in years so I don't have any recent pics but I have an album of photos from a few years back. In the future I'll be using other sites for any pictures but I mostly just wanted to say hi and talk urbex. https://imgur.com/a/jui1i

Welcome to the forum! I have been exploring KP since 2010, hence my username. Nice pictures, by the way. Kings Park is kind of trashed now, nothing left to see of value, however it is an easy explore IMO.

Yea, I was back last month and it's trashed. Park police make the trips not even worth it anymore

The park cops there are a joke 90% of the time....lol. But I still go because I love the place especially the tunnels.

At some point this year I'm gonna try to go to KP and Pilgrim while I'm on a road trip. KP has always seemed so cool to me simply because of its enormity. How is security/accessibility and all that? I keep hearing things about NY buckling down on security and it makes me paranoid, especially when I'll be somewhere that's out of my usual territory.

The tunnels have saved me from the cops more times than I could count haha. Easy to get lost or turned around though.

I wouldn't even bother with Pilgrim, unless you really want to see the power plant. The big buildings were torn down many years ago. The power plant has a really cool stair case that has a amazing view at the top.

As far as Kings Park, it really depends on the day and the mood of the park cops. But if you just dont want to be seen thats where tunnels come in handy. Everything is usually open somewhere, except for the Building 93 which looks like they have sealed up pretty well lately.

Ive always wanted to take the ferry from Connecticut to LI and hit up Kings Park, now with two kids i would never be able to find the time. Always wanted to see the sunset from the roof.
