A bit late, but I figured better late than never.
2017 was quite the year of change for me. I accomplished a several goals regarding employment and education. which unfortunately left me very little time to explore- I didn't explore at all between August and December. But that's just how life works out, and I'll be going into 2018 with more time to explore.
That's not to say I didn't find time where I could. Some of the best locations I've explored were ones I explored this year. Even if I limit myself to one or two photos per location, it's still going to be a photo heavy thread, so away we go!
I started off the year by exploring an abandoned Air Force radar station with WIurbex last January. It was by far the best location I've ever explored.

Thread:
http://www.uer.ca/...=1&threadid=124761 I had a bit of downtime after that exploration before college started again, so I went to check out a local grocery store that burned down. Fun fact: back in high school, some friends and I were going to play a jazz gig at a local concert, but it was cancelled at the last minute- so we performed in the parking lot of this burned out shell.

In February, I visited another abandoned Air Force structure- a series of small bunkers that used to house spare parts and munitions for the adjacent Air Force base, which is part of the regional commercial airport.

After returning to college, I made my way out to an old farmhouse on the outskirts of town for some pictures.

Anyway, final exam week is rather stressful, so I decided to celebrate its conclusion with another exploration in my hometown.

http://www.uer.ca/...=1&threadid=126238 My summer employment took me to the Northwoods of Wisconsin. The forest is deep there, and if you wander far enough off the main path, you're bound to stumble across something interesting.

While my duties kept me busy day and night, I had time to work in one exploration that summer- to an old resort, tucked away among the trees.

This was where I took my four month hiatus from exploring. A new academic year began, and while I was able to achieve a goal of mine, that same success meant less time exploring for those months. I returned to exploring by visiting an old sugar mill that I explored in September 2016. It doesn't have much time left, but I was able to get in while the getting was good.

To those of you who started with me at the military and made it all the way here to the industrial, thanks for sticking with me for all twenty photos. I hope they were worth it.
It's been quite the year for me. Though 2017 had its ups and downs, I certainly got quite a few good explorations out of it. I'd call that a win.
Cheers, and here's a very late toast to 2018.
