In the 1970s, this city undertook a major urban renewal effort to combat blight and major loss of business in its downtown area to a nearby mall... at the cost of nearly every historic building in said downtown. The project spawned only two major developments: a cop shop, and a bank/office tower rising above the handful of remaining, older buildings - and the sea of parking lots that replaced the rest.

The tower shuttered around 2003 and has been slowly decaying, ever since.

A cop showed up during the second visit, but never got out of his car - spending a good hour or so farting around on his phone. We left not long after he did.
