Haven't posted on here in awhile, so here it goes...
I wasn't planning on sharing this story
yet as I did not capture nearly enough ground to properly document this whole facility, but that being said, I don't think I'll have the nuts to go back again anytime soon.
When I was little and my family would drive past this refinery, I had told my parents on multiple occasions that I wanted to work in a factory when I was older, just so I could see what was going on inside those mysterious buildings! Little did I know, you don't have to work anywhere to see what's happening behind the scenes!
Back in June I infiltrated this guy, finding a nifty little flaw in their security measures. From here I sprinted from cover to cover, trying to make my way over to the main section of roof. Once up there, I explored what I could, took all the photos I have, then proceeded to make my way towards the dock area.
Now, I realize that in posts I often say, "I splinter celled the shit out of this place," but when talking about Redpath, I have to say, it was some pretty sneaky shit. Workers would be within a few feet of me, supervisors giving order and writing on their clipboards, conveyor belt operators moving stuff and forklift drivers lifting parcels. I would wait for them to simply turn around, and under the cover of the factory noises I would slip past undetected.
Arrogance made me blind, however, and eventually my ninjalobster-ness got the better of me. I don't know why, but I thought it'd be a good idea to climb up onto an active crane while it offloaded sugar from a ship into the refinery. Apparently, there were more workers than I had anticipated, and once the guards I had been keeping an eye on quickly stopped relaxing and looked panicked, I knew I was fucked. Someone must've spotted me from the freighter.
To keep the long story short, everyone was freaking out pretty hard, I had to calm them down and ensure them that I wasn't a terrorist and that this was just my idea of fun. Eventually I had the chance to speak with a supervisor that wasn't trying to murder me, he took my name and made me delete my photos. A truly awesome memory I had made, however loosing the photos was unfortunate.
The following day I went downtown to try a whole bunch of roofs. After about climbing 6 or 7 unsuccessfully, I went home in dismay. My brother (technology sempai) happen to be home from university, and asked what was happening. Told him about getting caught and loosing photos from night before, and he said, "oh as long as you haven't taken any photos since, I think I can recover what you deleted." It's too bad, I was downtown "shooting" all day. Then, I realized, my unsuccessful rooftopping meant that I hadn't taken a single photo this day. To me, this was proof that often not getting what we want can be an opportunity in disguise. Bless my brothers soul.
So, probably won't be returning here, if I'm caught again, I'm not so sure I'll get away with it. It's sad though, so much more to see, lots more fun to be had.

These next one's are off my cellphone, just worthwhile additions. One of the coolest parts was seeing the enormous mountain of sugar in the east building. Not sure why they rotated left, but feel free to crank your head to the side.
