Have any of you explored the old AT&T bunker in Stanfield, NC? I haven't seen it in the news in the last few years so I don't know if it is accessible, redeveloped, or just shockingly boring.

There have been some interesting articles like this one http://www.charlot...rticle8999099.html and on youtube https://www.youtub...atch?v=og0v8zMFQUc

I live in Charlotte and am looking to do some more exploring with other folks.

Name dropping doesn't help anyone.
These cold war sites are getting rarer and need as much protection as possible.
Otherwise they end up a tag out, scraped out piece of shit not worth visiting.
Everyone and the owner(s) can see this thread... it's a small, small world.
Do your homework.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend.
As far as 'name-dropping,' I didn't list an address or GPS coordinates, just info already openly available in print or video news.
As far as 'doing my homework' I'm only a basic member so I can't view the database; I found but didn't share, a street address & GPS coordinates; I haven't checked the county GIS or register of deeds (yet) to ask permission to tour.

I welcome any suggestions on how I could have handled this better; however, if my post is that out of line, I apologize and can delete it.

Find it, get in/shoot it (if you can) and wait to post it if need be... maybe for years.
Give away no location info of any kind except to those you would trust with your soul. My favorite bunker was deliberately obscured by me by making it appear to be in another state and -no- outside shots even though they were cool.
I even made people guess what it was... I'm a bastard.

Once you see a gem get completely trashed in a couple months flat, it will make you a believer.
It's better to be a bastard then a destroyer of worlds

It's very against forum rules to delete... don't.
Get a mod make the thread private then only you and other FMs can view it. That at least exterminates the web spiders.

I understand protecting a find, I have helped save 2 - one I worked a haunted house and did light/sound at a few fundraising events for, and another I helped find a new owner. On the other hand, another local favorite suffered major damage at the hands of a dynamic duo of vandals and arsonists.

Again - the info I shared went only as far as local news reports.

It's not unheard of for scrapers, vandals, etc to comb the public viewable threads here.
Take a gander at all those spiders:

These spiders creep me out... and look at all the lurkers here.
