Exploring in Arizona...What to expect

So, I may be moving out to the PHX area later this year, and I was hoping to get an idea of what to expect as far as exploring goes out there from the locals.

I realize there probably aren't as many options for older asylums/hospitals/industrial like we have on the east coast, but I was hoping that some of you guys could give me a heads up on what it's like out there. Mines /drains aren't my thing, so hoping there's more available.

Ghost towns, of coarse

Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in.

You don't Have to go in the mines, but you can look for mine buildings. In general the big cities don't let things stay vacant for too long. Some outskirt houses can be found but scrappers are a big problem here. Road trips and google earth planning are helpful tools out here.
Expect to hate life this summer and every one after.

Yeah the summers are hot. You and your A/C will become your best friend. I am used to it, but some days still have me thinking why in the hell did I move here?

The best thing to do is to do explorations in northern AZ in the spring and summer. And in the late fall to winter, do stuff in southern AZ. This way, it wont be as hot.

Haha. I'm sure I'll have quite a few of those. How long have you been there?
