Do the moderators discriminate against certain user???

I've been a member on here since October 9,2010, and I've bitches and complained about being denied twice for full membership, but I've recently came a across a full member who has been on here a little over a year which makes me ponder about the moderators having favorites.

More then likely my profile will be axed, and if so it was good talking to you all.

I checked your user account history to see why you were denied full membership twice.

This is your first full member application way back in 2011:

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Totally blank.

A moderator asked you if you were having problems, but no response.

Then in 2017, you submitted a second application:

Is there any other way to become a full member???

My answer then is the same as my answer now: No, you have to actually write an application to convince us you deserve full membership.

You put more effort into writing this post than you did into both of your two previous rejected applications combined.

It does say that members can be recommended by others and even staff. So that could be why they are getting it early.

And I know this is a dumb question but do you upload many photos or content?
Because that is a big part of what they consider.
Other wise Im not too sure. Then again I have only been here for like 2 months.

Edit: Or its what steed said above haha. I cant say I wouldn't have done the same though!

I wouldn't say year-long full members are getting it early even. Someone who's been here seven years as a basic member is kind of odd though, even if it is just because he never properly applied for full membership.

Full Membership is earned. Its a trust based system. Does anyone actually trust you?

Appears you cant be trusted to fill out an application or even follow the directions. I guess you just feel entitled because you've been here a while?

Also you may not have contributed too much. Not taking any shots or anything but I've seen profiles with more liked content who have only been here a month or two.

I never was concerned with getting my FM when I first came here. If you're a good member people will notice you and even recommend you.
Av or a mod can jump you in just like that if they choose to. There is more than one path to getting your FM here.

We like pics and -perceived- danger sells.
Stepping on the toes of mods, respected members and posting trash posts/threads are not paths to a FM. Think very hard before you start a thread on the Main Forum; posting shit threads here will get you noticed and remembered.
A locked thread or sinking ship is a bad sign...

Be less concerned with how others got their FM and more concerned with what you contribute and do here.
It's easy to see who is interested and reading threads here... and who are not.
Best to read as many threads/posts posts as possible here and learn about this culture and its under currents before you come to any conclusions.
It's the game that moves as you play it.

I'm probably wasting my breath, but here goes anyway.

Full membership isn't difficult but it does require a slight bit of effort focused in the right direction.

The first bit of advice I would give ANYONE wanting full membership on this forum is: "Don't be a jerk". There is no faster way to stay a basic member than being a jerk.

Be part of the conversation when you post on a thread. Don't just swing by to give it a "Nice Job" and leave it at that. Tell what you liked and why. If you feel compelled to write about a thread you don't like, then tell what you would have liked to see. You don't have to tell someone that their photos suck, you can suggest that they might want to focus the camera before they take a picture.

Lastly, the one that probably has the most impact. Explore, take photos, write a story about your adventure, and post those pictures. Then do it again. And again. That's what makes a forum like this work. Without people posting their adventures this forum will decay and collapse just like the buildings we explore.

You don't have to be a great photographer with an expensive camera. I'm not but I always have photos to go with my stories.

Be safe with your adventures and I hope to see some of your threads.

Dude, there's a perfectly articulated set of guidelines already on the forum for how to get a Full Membership. Just click the globe on any Full Member's profile.

It can't really be said much more clearly.

That gives you a pretty good idea but doesn't show PMs sent in the background.
Some members have been made or broke by PMs... or phone calls or texts, etc.

We communicate effectively, do you?

It's amazing how effective talking to others is! Also, explore photos go a long way

All this advice is good, but if you were an active member with lots of good contributions and your full member application was just blank or you asking "Is there any other way to get full membership?" you'd likely get a fail from me.

Another thing that doesn't help in getting full membership is creating a new second account, then when that gets blocked a third and fourth.

I agree

This guy brings no value or contribution of any kind to our community he is only here to disrupt.

For the record the mods I know do not discriminate against anyone, except maybe spammers, trolls and shit stirring time wasters with duplicate accounts like this guy.

Can't believe how many actually do this on a consistent basis.

812, aren't you the one who posted what basically amounted to softcore porn the other night? I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that's not the first time you've done something like that? I'd imagine that plays a big factor...

From my read of the rules, after you get your 6 months in, time spent doesn't matter. Contribution and presentation matters.

As an aside, pardon the noob question, but how DID boat posting become a thing? Was someone about to tear an awful post a new one when a navy vet came in with, "Nah, nah, nah... I got this, hang on?"

Trust me if there was discrimination it would have been against me long ago. But there isn't. I'm a full member and I suck.
