I finished the day at my favourite train place and watched the sunset from atop a train car. Snow and all.

I took some pics and found a newspaper dated from 2009. I also found a box of personal effects and took a pic of the name. When I got home, I googled it and sure enough, found the obituary for the man who lived there. He died in 2012 and had no wife or children and very few extended family members still living. He was 93.

Sad isn't quite the right word but I felt something in that ballpark. It puts a face and a story to the person who had lived there.

Nice Googlin', it's rare to stumble upon the history of a derelict so easily.

If you're not already, I'd encourage you to start putting together some records of your trips. They don't have to be super detailed if you don't want them to be, but having an organised archive of pictures and found documents for each location is not only interesting to look back on in a few years time, it will be very helpful when you earn full membership and start adding locations and history to the DB.

Learning the research part from this smart guy I know ^^^ Thank you for all the help and tips you've given me. I haven't done that but I will start doing it. There's getting to be enough now that I know I won't remember them all. I just have one giant collection of pictures and whatever I write here and it would be good to organize them.
