Again, its easy to say that as a man who has experience rather than a young kid caught up in the moment, but yes, I totally agree, you should never go into an explore without a way to get yourself out. That's the name of the game isn't it? Avoiding the cops? As we've well established, MANY mistakes were made by these guys.

Learn the easy way from their mistakes and don't make them.
People who needlessly risk rescuers lives and get sites sealed up tight aren't going to find any wuv here.

As for the would be explorers...

I'm still not quite sure I understand exactly what happened. Did the third kid not even attempt to go out the pipe on his own? Or did he happen to be able to get reception from the bottom of the pipe? I don't know anyone who wouldn't be able to get out if they REALLY thought the situation was serious enough to call the police.

Side note. The air is 100% perfectly fine. There was literally NO rush to call the police, IE no real emergency.

I love how the news makes everything sound so crazy. Elite Cave rescue team takes 2 hours. Any MSP explorer could have had them out in less time.

Sucks that they're gonna be crackin down on every Lilydale cave now. Only ever got to explore Candyman. At least TOT and others are safe.

I really don't think there's anything to worry about if you've even remotely followed the sealing/unsealing of any MSP caves in the past 100 years..

It sucks, but it is what it is. Just gotta know how to let things cool off and always have backups.

As for you w0nka good sir, I believe how it went down is that all 3 went down the vent tube, but only 2 went down the shaft to the cave. Otherwise the 3rd kid would not have heard the 2 pleading to not call the cops. Kid 3 then exited the tube to the surface to meet authorities. There's a bit in the dispatch recording talking about how kid 3 went up to the park to meet them.
