I couldn't find much history on this location, but it was neat to explore. Apparently the original owner had a small factory that produced golf clubs, as well as a clubhouse and golf course. However, there were several outbuildings that I couldn't figure out (why they existed). The factory and golf course have been abandoned for quite a while, but the house on the property had some papers and documents in it from as recent as 2002. The architecture was still sound, no hellholes or collapsing ceilings. It's not a large facility, but it is a pretty neat little space tucked into a residential area of Overland Park (Kansas). The site isn't in the best of condition, there haven't been any arsonists, but a few taggers and stupid high-schoolers have left their mark on the factory.

Nice find! Welcome to UER We actually were planning on going out there Sunday.

I find most the stuff in OP isn't necessarily vandalized, just dealing with kids hanging out and tagging.

If you ever want to link up in Kansas City let me know.

Found doing a search of city proposals:

[Name Removed] Golf Clubs were produced from 1936 to 2003 at the site, earning their fame because they were not mass-produced; each set was unique, made to each client's specifications. Those clients included the rich and famous -- Bob Hope, Sammy Davis Jr. and Mickey Mantle, as well as presidents like Lyndon B. Johnson and Dwight D. Eisenhower and royalty like the King of Morocco, Hassan II.

Cool find! Hopefully you (or maybe 4Valhal) will share a few more photos of the place. The machinery kind of reminds me of one of my first (and one of my favorite) finds, which was a scissor factory. If I had to guess, I’d say the metallurgy or whatever the process is considered to cut, mold, and shape metal into golf clubs or scissors is somewhat similar. But that’s just a guess made from someone that knows nothing about golf clubs or scissor making.
Anyways, I like the place, thanks for sharing!

We went out there two weekends ago and starting to go in. About halfway in it started down pouring out of nowhere. After waiting about 30 minutes in the car to see if it'd stop we went ahead and left. Made the right decision as it just poured all night.

Soon though. Very soon.

Now that I've started using flickr, I can upload images more easily. Here is an album of some of the better photos I took of the factory itself. https://flic.kr/s/aHskpRX6gV
