Every so often I see somewhere that ticks all the boxes, somewhere that is a perfect snapshot of decay. Located in the back end of the middle of nowhere this small church fits that bill and then some, tucked far out of reach of any idiots or looters quietly decaying all by itself in a tiny hamlet.

It was a long journey to get here so I was massively relieved when I pushed the door and found it open - and with a bit of a shove it opened enough to allow entry. Sometimes the best things really do come in small packages, this place is a stunning little time capsule of untouched decay. It is a location more befitting a continental Europe setting rather than out in the sticks of the UK.

It's wonderful knowing there are still gems like this hidden away on the back roads.

What beautiful building.
Do you know when it was last in use?

No idea, but it's clearly been empty a long time - I'd say at least 10-15 years. Maybe even longer.

We're you able to access the bell tower?
A shame to see such well constructed building go to waste.

Wow! Churches like this in this condition are my favorite. Great pictures! Thank you so much for the share. I just keep drooling over the architecture and aesthetic.

There was no way up, but the ropes to ring the bells were still hanging through the holes in the ceiling and there was a trap door but no ladder. I'd fully expect the bells to still be in situ up there.

It's probably the oldest building I've explored to date as well, as parts of it date back to the 13th Century.

#15 is creepy AF, it's like the creepy statue head has bad hangover who cannot face the bright light.
