I was just messaging a member, and thought, why am I not sharing this with everyone here?!

This weekend, Saturday the 19th ONLY from 1000-1800, the Veterans Memorial Bridge will be open for self guided tours.

I know POE isn't something we post, but I thought that was funny. Its the POE for an approved, self guided tour! From the street view and directions, it looks like we will arrive at their shop, and go in from there. Not sure the actual details, but I'm thinking a 360 video around 1000. Send me a message if you might be there!

Well worth checking out if you're in the area. I've gone there twice, both times there were a lot of people, but not enough to where you couldn't get good photos. Be sure to bring a good flashlight or something powerful to light up darker areas, lots of stuff to see and photograph is hidden in the shadows. You get to see parts of the old W.25th Subway Station in addition to the old industrial sized locomotive on the eastern end of the bridge.

And don't forget to look "down", there are a few neat things you can see in the flats area that you can't normally see from the ground, including the old EL train tunnels along the west bank of the flats.

That's pretty cool.

Plus you can do a scouting mission to check out security measures, entry points for future unguided tours*.

The trip was pretty fun! I couldn't believe how jam packed it was. I couldn't see going back for an unguided tour- but if anyone is, let me know. I will say, I found it very interesting there were no "No Trespassing" signs posted. Many detailing consequences of vandalism and that its a terror attack to attempt to destroy or harm the bridge, but nothing about no trespassing.

1. The bridge walk was mostly from the center, but this section gave a north facing view from the edge. 360 out on a light stand, and no clue how to change the orientation of the 360.

2. Under the bridge. Just enough space to squeeze the 360 through the grate.

3. The bridge walkway. 360.

4. A better shot of the view. 360.

5. Down by the old station, on the west side. 360.

6. Exterior Shot. Note 7.

I can't figure out how to get youtube to actually play my 360 videos as 360, so no videos as of now. Also, the Nikon files aren't up yet- I'll just make another post here when those are up. Finally, here is the full album- minus sensitive photos.

I posted a few comments on your Flickr Album, but I'll say it here too, great stuff, a few of the 360 shots you got are amazing!
