Sudafed. Avoid antibiotics whenever possible.
Garlic, lots of it.
You must bring the sinusitis under control.
If you haven't already, have it scoped.
Fungus balls are rare but real.
If required and applicable have the sinus drainage problems surgically corrected.
&
If you want to start witch hunting, look at where you live and work. Any mold is suspect.
It can be hidden behind walls that have water damage. Chronic exposure ie living in high concentrations of mycotoxins can destroy your health.

Any time you get a peppery burning sensation in the back of your throat suspect mold spores. Vacuum cleaners; make sure the filters are clean. Never be a room where someone is vacuuming especially in gyms and public places; within a day or two it can cause sinusitis.
No joke, been there, done that.

Oh I've had surgery twice for sinus issues now (most recent was two months ago) Sudafed has zero effect on me, as do most over-the-counter meds. My condition really hasn't changed much depending on where I've lived or worked. (Although, my workplace now most likely has mold as it's a soggy old shop)

That's hard to believe because of the nature and action of the drug.
Take 2-3 pills in the morning and as needed after. You can normally double the dosage recommended on the box safely.
Pseudoephedrine is what I'm referring too.
I use it to break the cycle. A couple days usually does it, longer if needed.

The fact that's it's effecting your lungs makes sorting it out more urgent
Maybe allergies are part of the problem.
●Consider a food allergy if you haven't already.
They can develop at any time but many times after a serious infection.
I became allergic to yellow corn after I had lyme disease.

A food elimination diet can help track down the culprit(s). GI problems, edema, hives, trouble concentrating are signs of food allergies.

Apply DMSO on the skin over the sinus cavities or even drink a teaspoon at a time to relieve sinusitis symptoms.
Good cigars in moderation may help; tobacco has anti-inflammatory properties.

The answer is there; keep looking

That's all very good to know, I have no idea why doctors don't tell you this stuff. I've also been fighting allergies most of my life, but had never considered the food allergy thing. I'll try the food elimination thing.

Thank you for the info!

Unfortunately they don't take much time or do what needs to be done. Medical is an art not a science so results aren't straight line.
There's a lot of disinformation on the internet as well as useful and valid.
I had help but much I learned the hard way.
Give the pseudoephedrine another try, don't use it the evening though.
Try the DMSO, it's unique. Read up on it first though. You can also use it as a drug delivery systems; it drags almost anything through the skin with it. It is safe even in large amounts. It's related to MSM.

Food allergies will exacerbate respiratory symptoms and lower your threshold level for airborne ones. Once you get below the total threshold level you will be able to tolerate small amounts of allergens with no reaction.
Brown rice is almost always a safe food.
Just saying.
Raw goat milk if you like it and can get it is a total food. It heals.

●Eliminate all artificial sweetners 100%, these are know troublemakers even in the smallest amounts especially nutrasweet ie aspartame. Pure poison.
Stevia is probable ok though.
Ditch the high fructose corn syrup as much as possible especially in soft drinks; use sugar if you need sweet.
●Do not use NSAIDS, rebound effect and they cause other long term inflammation issues.
NSAIDS can cause a lot of trouble...
Interesting Tylenol (acetaminophen) is not a NSAIDS but don't go crazy with it.
Remember the vacuum cleaner thing.

Try increasing your zinc intake; use sublingual zinc gluconate lozenges for a month or two. Dissolve slowly in mouth as it's readily absorbed like that. A metallic taste that persists means you have enough, cut it back.
Chronic zinc and B vitamin subclinical deficiencies can play hell with you.

●If you -know- you do better in a different climate, make the jump. It's not fun, but this is about survival and living well.
I do better in a hot, dry climate, it eliminated a skin condition the doctors couldn't ID or treat.
I probably be dead now had I stayed in PA.
Lol, doctor heal thyself.

Copied/pasted and taking your advice. Unfortunately with the NSAIDs, I also have insanely bad back and joint pain (career choice things, yay), so I need them at least a couple of nights a week so I can actually sleep.

And I'd absolutely LOVE to leave this climate. Ontario sucks. I'm a tropical person.
