Love them? Hate it with a fiery passion? Waste of time because you can just get a regular photo then do the effect in post prod?

Occasionally cool to look at, but not worth the money or effort to shoot myself. Changing lenses in an abandonment is how you get a dirty sensor, and I'm not bothering with a second body.

Playing musical lenses gets annoying and the effect can become gimmicky if shot excessively; but it's worth having in certain scenarios...

As with anything with the fisheye lens...if is done well it can be awesome.

For very wide areas, or closer things that are spread fairly wide and all belong in one shot, they're quite useful. Also good for adding emphasis to structure if done properly. If not, you risk just having a very warped picture with no real aesthetic benefit.
They're also great for making things seem much bigger/higher than they are if you use a low angle!
