Hi everyone, I moved to Phoenix about a year ago and I've been wanting to get into urban exploration. I checked out an abandoned trailer home on the side of the road on Highway 87, but I'll have to have the photos developed before I can post them because I shot them on film. Anyways, does anyone have tips for either how to find more places like this (I just sort of saw this as I was riding my motorcycle and went to check it out) or suggestions for places to check out? Thanks

I just moved to Tucson, so I am new as well. It depends on what kinds of things you want to check out. AZ is known for its many abandoned mines and ghost towns. If you look them up, you will find some pretty cool places which you can explore, but just know that many of them require 4x4 to get there. I am sure there are other types of abandonments as well, so always keep your eye out while driving around etc.

I'm in the East Coast so our environments are different, but I've found quite a few places just by following railroad tracks and large rivers on Google maps. Large manufacturing facilities often had a railroad connection, and the really old ones were usually built alongside rivers for hydro power. Similarly, scanning for roofs that look worn, collapsed, or generally uncared for are a decent sign of abandonment as well. Though some places are still active and just haven't redone the roof in a while.

There isn't a whole lot of exciting stuff around AZ. Mostly mines and ghost towns, agreed. There are two pretty known tracks that are worth the drive. I lived about a mile from the old abandoned Fox Animation studios and they tore that down a couple months back. ☹
