A Trip to Nassau, Bahamas

On my vacation on Paradise Island earlier this month, I took a walk down to the connected island of Nassau to see the city. There was a lot of abandonment and signs of poverty in the further reaches of the city, standing in stark contrast to the vibrant and colorful resorts and cruise ships.

This deterioration is mostly due to the corruption of the government. Thankfully a new leadership has stepped in to fix the country, so most of this will probably be gone in a few years or so.

EDIT: I keep getting a message reading "The following error occurred: At least one of the uploaded files exceeds the maximum allowed size." I have never received this message before when posting images, which is baffling since every image I had posted previously is the same size as these. I'm putting all the images in an Imgur link. If anybody has a solution, I'm open.

Interesting. I was there 12 years ago and it was in pretty bad shape, but it was interesting to look at.

You can't use the site's built-in uploader because the images are over 100kb. You can post them using imgur's embedding links, but I'm not sure if you can choose a display size or if imgur automatically resizes.

Don't want to hijack this thread, but can't help responding to the above with "That's what they [politicians] all say!" The blight will be bulldozed only to build new places for the tourists. I hope I'm wrong, and I hope you can go back in a few years to see if things do improve for everyone.
