A few weeks back, I had the opportunity to explore an abandoned residence on the outskirts of town. According to neighbors, it had been owned by at least one elderly person.

2. Empty Hospitality
3. Flowering Ruins
This particular photo is a close- up of one of the knobs on the kitchen cabinet doors.

5. Dreaming of Wonderland
6. Sacred Year
Look at the date on this calendar- it's from 1974.
7. Creeping Regrowth
8. A Real Fixer- Upper
9. Ward Against Misfortune
Found over the front door.
The neighbors didn't know what happened to the owner. Though most small objects were removed, some still were present- a key here, a magazine there, small trinkets and baubles in obscure corners. The basement and bedrooms are halfway renovated, dried cans of paint with the brushes still in them. A weedwacked lies overgrown where it was dropped, and the laundry rooms still smells of soap. Aside from the warped and creaking floors, it looks as though you could move in in a week with a bit of work. This was the most untouched abandonment I've found so far.
