And here we go, at midsummer's eve with post which should have been published week or two ago. Another new one, that I did found with maps and aerial photos. It was rainy and dark morning, so I didn't get everything from there - I know there are lot of photos waiting. I actually did return just four days later, but that trip weren't so good. First of all rain did start 3 kilometers before arriving (and because nature have surrounded this so well inside is dark, I mean really dark). Worst thing were that it was obvious that someone have been there since that first trip... so it was pretty quick visit, I couldn't get that "I'm alone" mood to really find photos. So these are from that first trip.

For example the last three shots (before the bonus), I would choose one to showcase. That being said, no complaints about the photography! Last shot is awesome

Oh No, No! This isnt the Critique section. You have been here 1 month compared to Wolfheart's 10. Please refrain from judging what other, more experienced photographers do. The last three shots are not even the same if you go back and really look. The last two are, but are totally different views. That being said, You are VERY correct is saying his photos are lovely. ALWAYS have been, ALWAYS will be.

I thought there was somebody walking through the doorway in Image 5 but it was just an illusion. I almost jumped out of my seat though

Wolfheart, i get excited when you find a new location to photograph since you REALLY have to hunt for them in the area in which you live. Looks quite inviting from the shot When Life Is Gone.... Love the colorful lamps and floral curtains in this house. The big cabinet is great in All and Everything. A shame that it just sits and no one is getting any use out of it. My favorites are Rust N- Green, Long Wait, and your ~beautiful~ off-topic shot. Print it! I will buy it!

One of the things that makes abandoned homes so interesting to me is the archaeological remnants of individual human lives.

I think you did a really amazing job capturing the lived-in look of this place. In some of them, it is particularly easy to imagine the people living there.

I am especially fond of "To Mother" and "Let's Sit Down...and Listen to the Rain."

Thank you very much, and you have point there. All these years I've try to learn delete as much as possible and publish even less, but time after time... I still do same mistakes when choosing what to show (tells something about my brains I suppose). But hey, let's fake that learning process goes on... xD

Oh my darling, don't take it so hard, there are sooo many tastes in this world and I'm really aware that there are people that like my photos... and more those who doesn't, and ALL OF THEM are right! And actually there were that point - I really try avoid to publish too similar photos and those were on (or even over) that line. But I did see them like you do, different views but maybe too similar still.

Don't be sorry, this is interesting. Yeah, there is that thing when you have haunt them since 2004... there will be point (because I can't get too far from here because money and time) when I have to start really search them for, you know, with maps and aerial photos, books etc. But I really love that hunt too, and especially that feeling when I really can find something.

Thanks, and have to say that you have extremely good taste. I'm still waiting that first visit there without rain, with better light. I'm pretty sure that even that picture can be taken better... and I'm waiting for it. And I agree: best things in life are those you can't explain WHY they are like they are.

Now we are in my point! They are so strange spaces (and frozen moments) between that day and today, between life and death. Also there are that point how these places are dying too, at some period of time they will be gone. I'll try to make something from them last, at least longer. At least this is how I justify this madness for my mind who sometimes claims that this ain't so fine thing to do. If I would be able to do what I really would want to, these would be some kind mixture of art and documentary... well, art may be wrong word but feelings maybe?

Sorry for this flood of words; I'm alone at home and bit drunk. When I'll at this evening take my first absinthe, it will go for you.

I think "art" very much applies in that these images evoke an emotional response, as well as having a definite aesthetic component.

I think combining art and documentary is a great idea. When I explore, I always like to get some historical background of the place so I can fit what I see into some kind of context and try to fit that context somehow into the images.

You're right; the mystery can also be pretty enjoyable. When I have no idea what I am looking at, the storyteller in me automatically starts filling in the gaps with characters and plots.

Sometimes I wonder what people would think of me if all they had to inform that perception was what I left lying around.

Same here; feels impossible to be in these without brains rolling with stories. And same here: especially when there are really old photos watching you from the walls... and you know they have been there also when place still was home... It's really hard not to wonder what would they think how their homes have turn... and what they would think photographing there. That's why I always try to get photos that somehow save something from those places, I mean from mood. Sadness, joy, beauty or anything like that, something that would show respect to those places and possibility to photograph it all. I don't know if I can do it like I would like to, but at least that is where I'm aiming.
