Exploring by the Sea

Went to a fairly popular vacation beach town for Memorial Day weekend. While arriving, I noticed an old train trestle bridge, headed right over the main river flowing to the beach. After my group sunk themselves into the beach, I decided to head over and give it a quick look. After some research, I was able to find out that the bridge is actually a pratt deck single lane iron girder bridge, with Trestle on each side. Anyway. After watching two kids get scowled by the nearby houses while heading over, I decided to go from the other side. Pretty cool, just got a bit nervous as the police station was right under me. Great views of the beach just a fence hop away.

Since I was in the area, I decided to check out the old Ripsin Mansion on the UER database. Pretty neat, however all the entrances are shut with concrete and the doors are covered by metal plates. Also, the alarm system had me on my toes. Either way a very gorgeous building.

I like the old bridge. There's also a nice view from up there.

This is the first mention of Rispin I've seen since I went there a couple years ago (they had just cemented the damn thing shut - although I don't recall there being an alarm system). I light painted the outside without anyone saying anything to me, even with my strobe light popping off every 15 seconds, lol. I figured I was okay as long as I was on the outside and just walked onto the front yard. It was beautiful, but I was disappointed to not have seen the interior.

The train track you photographed is also a favorite of mine. I love that whole area and miss it terribly. Nice work! There are some interesting spots within an hour or so south of that area as well. A couple very large ones, actually.

Here's some light painting from the Mansion (2015) and the tracks circa 2011 (the "Lost Boys" filming location, I believe). Don't judge too harshly on the light painting, I was just learning how and these weren't edited...
