Back when I explored the "Highway Homestead" location, I also came across an abandoned cement mill, referred to as a quarry in the UER Database. Here are some photos from that particular exploration.

1.

2.

Unfortunately, most of the building itself was sealed, but that doesn't mean there wasn't anything interesting in the yard.

3.

This is where they'd back the trucks up, in order to fill them with wet concrete. You can see the bottom of the hopper sticking through the roof.

4.

5.

The tower was climbable, but a bit too windy for my taste. I had to stop climbing several times or risk losing my grip due to the strength of the wind. There wasn't really anything to look at up on top.

6.

7.

8.

9.

10.

Nice find. The old trespassing sign almost hasn't aged compared to the rest of the yard

Thanks! That sand silo was actually a difficult, if relatively short, climb. On top of the strong wind, I had to constantly make sure I wasn't grabbing a vine instead of a ladder rung by mistake, and try to untangle myself going up.

Ain't that the truth. I'm not sure if it would be $50, though. That's an old sign, and city ordinances have changed since then. I wonder if the posted fine carries more weight than the one listed in the city ordinances? What usually takes precedence in this case?

I still don't know if I would have taken that particular picture, though. I'd like to keep my deniability as plausible as I can. ;p

In #3, is the ceiling collapsing under the weight of the hopper? That's what it looks like, but I can't tell.

#10 is a favorite; I really like shots of old gears and wheels.

You know, I don't think it was collapsing, but... maybe I shouldn't stand under it if I ever go back. It was a bit lopsided, after all.

Nice find
The hopper looks well supported by steel beams.
Never know; trust nothing.
I've seen heavy pipes fall with only a small amount of extra weight... same with floors.

Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in.

Just be sure to never kick any supporting structures. Or lean on them. You know what, just don't touch them at all
