Surrounded by residential houses this centuries-old building looks like being out of place. It’s the only home in the proximity where the plaster on the walls is crumbling. On the inside it looks like the residents just left from one minute to the next. Nearly everything is still there – welcome to Maison Kirsch.

We’re back in Luxembourg. After we had seen many places on our urbex road trip – like a massive cooling tower or long tunnels in the underground – it was about time to explore some more abandoned residential houses.
1.

When we arrived at Maison Kirsch we and our purposes were noticed by an attentive neighbor. But instead of chasing us away the young man – who was an urban explorer himself – showed us the way in. On top of this he warned us about the vigilant son of the former owner who is living right next door.
2.

So accordingly, we moved carefully and quietly through the rooms. At nearly every step floorboards and the stairs creaked. Soon we started to whisper.
3.

Nearly everything was left behind. The cupboards are still filled. Next to numerous documents you can find clothes, preserved food and many more fascinating things from another era here. There are a lot of furnishings that you usually see at an antique dealer.
4.

It was dark everywhere. Due to the lack of light it was difficult to shoot and take pictures in the old house.
5.

In 1791 Maison Kirsch was built. On the property there’s the main building with adjacent cattle shed and a derelict barn – the whole place is connected. Back then it used to be a distillery. A variety of wine bottles and preserved fruits indicate that this might be true. It is said that the farmhouse was abandoned in the 60s.

I don't usually watch videos because they never seem to capture my attention as well as photographs. I watched your entire video and enjoyed it immensely! Very well done, and Great Farmhouse!

Same here!! Simply amazing. It's extremely hard to find such old & well-preserved abandoned residences here in the states.

I wonder in what language was written the documents that the explorer stated he could not understand (6:54)?

Wow--preserved food from the 60s? I wouldn't eat that... The pictures are gorgeous, I especially love the two with the bottles. Very pretty when the light shines through them.

New. Improved? ... Extra shiny!
