Google earth, maybe a tunnel? Or somethin'

Hello y'all. New to the forum, apologize if this isn't the right place or appropriate. So I do a lot of exploring. But I've been using Google earth lately. This one is bugging me. I'm trying to decide if this could be something. Thoughts? Would be a hike through thick woods with a machete. It looks like a tunnel to me. Either way I have to let it simmer for a few weeks as I fractured my hand.

The path seems to end right there...its hard to tell if that's actually something or just shadows? May as well go check it out if it's not too far out of the way!

A road cut out expressly for dumping some scrap concrete pipe?
Meh, should be in regional if at all.

Going through dense undergrowth isn't considered rehab...

Try bing maps. Sometimes they have very detailed aerial imagery

pic number 2 appears to be noting more than a culvert under that highway, technically that would be a tunnel

I think you're right or maybe an storm water outlet. Which explains the access road.
Or it may be a serial killer's dumping ground.

I agree with 2X its quite possible that it is a culvert under the highway

In any case you should consider actually exploring it

I love to find stuff on satellite images then navigate my way to it

lol military base and ufos. I see. No, i was thinking maybe it could be a cave or old mine. But a culvert makes sense I don't know why I didn't think of that. Just something going under the interstate. Either way I'll probably make the hike, I get my cast off tomorrow. Hiking off trail will make the adventure whether or not it's explore worthy. I cut through thick woods on the way to an abandoned mine once, might have been my favorite part of the explore!

Definitely it'll be a solo trip. I usually explore with my buddy and his wife, sometimes my girlfriend. Places like factories, hospitals, but if I say hey want to hike through a mile of dense forest to find a drain pipe? Oh ho, that's a no.

There's a bunch of abandoned limestone mines and caves near you. Might be related

If it's a mine, put off exploring until you specifically prepare for spelunking. Spelunking requires a great deal more gear and preparation than a normal exploration, and has some severe and unique dangers as well. What ever you do, don't spelunk alone.

That's most likely just going under the road right there. But I'd say it's worth the look because a good location is always a gem when found.
