I am mentioning this location in Roswell, Georgia by name because it is open to the public, and if you are in the Metro Atlanta area, it is definitely worth a look.

The basic history is that the site was used to manufacture textiles, much of which was used to create Confederate uniforms. The uniforms worn by the CSA were sometimes called "Roswell Gray" for this reason. (Nota bene: If you do not specify that the "Roswell Gray" you are searching for has to do with Roswell Mill and Confederate battle dress, you can learn all about extraterrestrial visitors instead!)

The mill was destroyed by Union soldiers in 1864, but it was rebuilt and continued to operate until it was struck by lightning in 1928.

Since that time, nature has been making steady progress reclaiming the area.

Though these photos are a bit old, the area itself has not changed much as of my last visit within the last couple years.

Photos were most likely taken on a Canon Digital Elph around 2007.
