Some old gin after lunch

I found this old place and heard of it again recently. I have been so busy I enjoyed the chance to drive and check on some other things along the way. There was not much there, so only a few photos came from this spot. After looking at the pictures, I saw there was something rough going on with the lens and I converted some to B/W so it wasn't so bad.1.

2.

3.

I thought it was cool to see that there was still cotton in the treads after this has been out of service for a while.

4.

5.

I tried to fix this, but I thought it looked decent in B/W

6.

7.

So, I got tired of normal B/W and went with something wild.

Despite something rough going on with the lens you got some good shots. I like the moss in one, and the sky in five. The infrared look of 7 is neat.

Thanks! It was frustrating to sit down and see several issues after checking a few times along the way. I'm glad they turned out ok.

I really like #6, it's a good shot even with a bunk lens.

EHHH? I'm confused. That happens a lot, but, WHAT BUNK LENS??

wow - either I'm a new kinda *stupid* (possible) or I don't see anything wrong with the color pics. I am staring at the computer screen like a complete moron......still don't see the problem. TONS better than the crap I have.

The first black and white shot reminded me of The Wizard of Oz ....storm in the sky...etc. Very cool. Place looks pretty cleaned out. I hate that. Are they planning on knocking it down to put up something new? NVM.....don't answer that. I just hate when they ruin perfectly good ruins.

Re. your shots - From what I'm trying so hard to learn, squaring up the shot, you are pretty masterful at it. Very nice pictures. You get amazing colors too. Thanks for sharing them!

Thanks! Hopefully I was able to solve the issue with a good cleaning of the polarizer filter.

I think they were once using this just to process the crop from the fields and wouldn't need much inside. There is another active building that runs every season nearby, but this one was just sitting there.

Sometimes the person that is the most critical is the one who took the shot. In this case there was some issues and if you look at the right edge of #4 and #5 you may be able to see what I couldn't clean in PhotoShop. Luckily, it was something weird on my filter and not my wide angle lens itself.

Thanks! I'm glad you liked them.
