Posted by 2Xplorations Think drains are safe? Think again. You can run across homeless people including dead ones just about anywhere in Dallas even in storm drains. Read first hand accounts of park visitors at Lake Cliff Park. The shelter the woman speaks of is an eroded crawl space under the former Cliff Tower, cant believe the upscale yuppies haven't petitioned the city to run the homeless folks out of the area some of whom already got run out of the downtown canyon tent city.

Most are harmless especially if they need a walker
This society is showing signs of poverty typical of the 17th century onward.
A shortage of affordable housing is at least partly to blame.
The amount of material good you need to have to be fully functional has also increased; smartphone, car, auto insurance, auto registration, etc.
You can live without a apartment or home, but with no car you are in a bad situation.
Once you slip below that water mark, it's hard to come back and it takes time.
Many are Vets, and many those are still suffering from PTSD and worse.
It's a sad state of affairs.
That said I would avoid any place someone calls home without any invite.
Even then unless you like bedbugs, I would politely decline
Posted by Pear Doesn't surprise me, Dallas is pretty rough if you aren't in a suburban area. Every place I've been in Dallas has been stripped of copper and there was lots of mattresses sitting around that had been used the night before.

The worst parts of Dallas are a cake walk.
Try Jersey City, or Camden, or Germantown, or Port Elizabeth or the Bronx.
