This hotel and golf course sits across from Hodges Gardens state park. The complex was purchased by some investors and never reopened. It sits frozen in time and near zero vandalism.

Well now that you've posted the name of the place (twice) in a publicly searchable thread, that won't last long...

You're new so a couple of pieces of advice. While it is not considered against the rules to name drop a location in public it IS considered bad form. In literally 10 seconds I had a map to this place, and (I think most would agree with me on this) I'm an idiot. Make something up like "Abandoned Country Club" or "Hole in one!" Or something OTHER than the location name. It doesn't take long for a pristine place to go to shit or get burned down once word gets out.

Next, you posted this thread in the South forum as well as the Photography forum. Unless the photos are different you should post only once.

Don't take any of this as a flame or as criticism just some helpful advice to the new guy.

I used the actual name because it's a very well known location and generally has people living directly behind the hotel. It's stayed free from damage for almost a decade now.

i wasn't sure on the etiquette of this forum and multiple posts. In your opinion should i stick to the south or photography threads? I don't want to double post but 5 more locations with great photos i want others to be able to enjoy.

Thank you!

The "It's a well known location" argument has been used even by yours truly but it doesnt stop the flames (both figurative and literal). Like I said it's not a hard and fast rule but there are many here who feel that it just makes it easier for people with ill intent to destroy these places. It's happened more often than not so why take the chance?

As far as the choice to post in photography or regional it's entirely up to you. I've found that more people tend to look in the photography forum than the south regional forum. Personally I use the regionals because that's where the building is! Also, my photography sucks so it's more about the explore than the pictures for me.

I completely understand that.

Ok cool. I'll probably stick to the regional.

Regarding the pics and location, this is really cool. I love the stagnant green pool--wonder if any animals live in it at this point. It also seems like a rather large place but you seem to only really show the entrance/lobby area. Did you hit any of the rooms or other areas? It'd be interesting to see what has time done to those.
