So i scrapped the idea of buying a new case or buying a modkit in favor of doing stuff myself. I dont want to be showy, i just want to get the job done (and im lazy), so i decided to put another fan in the side of my case instead of a window panel.

You could get some molding of some sort and put it around the hole, i dont know how well that metal will smooth out. But check gideon in the guides section, there is stuff about this on there.

What did you use to make that hole? A pilot hole and a good pair of tin snips would of worked nisely.

As for the roughness, you can do what Kbosa said or get a dremel with a grinder attachment and grind it down.

edit 1 : added solution
edit 2 : spelling

A simple file should smooth down the edges of the hole although it will take you a while to file it down by hand. And I think molding would be a good thing. Even after the metal has been filed it's still pretty sharp.

i bought these for $20 USD total. the led fan had 3 pins and a 3 to 4 pin adapter. the pci blower was just a 4 pin.

heres the final hole. its not pretty, but its nice and smooth and will look better once i put a grille on.

the semifinal product, all i need now is a grill to protect my fingers.

and i also need to smooth out the square, i did this all with a drill, pliers, and a circular grinding stone drill bit. i will borrow my friends dremel. if you want more info pm me.
