Return to Compton...

OK maybe it's not the 'infamous' Compton but it's close...

Today was the day I realised I really have fallen out of love with exploring in the UK. I've had two weekends on the trot which I'd class as among my worst ever now. The things that looked - and should have been - easy proved not to be, with things stubbornly sealed up which really shouldn't have been, a lack of new exciting places to see and general apathy towards it all. After another day of fruitless fails we were on the homeward stretch and determined to see something to make the day feel like less of a complete waste of time so paid a revisit to a former pre-fab concrete building manufacturer I first explored at the tail end of last year. I expected it to be trashed and graffed to a huge extent but I was pleasantly surprised to see that not a lot had really changed at all which was nice. I also ended up with a few shots of things I missed last time around which was a good bonus.

This place will never win any awards but it's interesting and varied enough for an hour or so wander.

Mmmmmm....algae. <drool>

The only other thing I like more is moss, lichens and fungus but it's so damn hot in Texas we just get mold...

Good job man. If you're getting burned out come our way. Lots of great stuff here down south!

Major burnout going on haha.

My trouble is because I've been doing it so long now I have covered most of what I actually want to do here, so it's a struggle to find anything I haven't seen at some point.

Its getting to be the same with me for the Western New York area. I have seen almost everything that is worth seeing. The few good spots I haven't seen are either sealed up tight as can be or way to risky for what they are.

I'll likely be traveling quite a bit this year to see good new spots.

Nice shots here and looks like a pretty good spot to poke around for a few hours. Glad your trip wasn't a total bust.
