This old TB Hospital is finally coming down. Such a different feel inside now that it has been abated and gutted.

This was my home. This was why I started exploring. Had it not been for growing up with this hospital in my backyard, I never would have discovered this hobby. My father worked here. I scattered his ashes here. My family spent time getting treatment here. Definitely sad to see it go hence the sappy post. It was a trashed shitdump post-2004 but it was still special.

These pics are all from the last two days. Nice contrast in weather conditions.

Very sad that it's almost gone, but the photos of the snow drifted over the floor from the broken windows are quite lovely.

Nice shots dude, glad you were able to get in there one last time. What are the Hanson PD gonna do now?

Thanks dude! They're going to check the other hot spots in Hanson for adolescence crime- the Shaw's Supermarket parking lot and the cranberry bogs. Real talk though, we have a special ATV police unit for hunting people down in the bogs and swamps... God I love this town.

Thank you I really appreciate it.

A lot of people skipped over it because by 2005 it had already started to go really really downhill from all the arsons. Such a shame. It's supposed to be physically demolished tomorrow so I took a few people down there today for their first time and my last time.

Thank you kindly. Yeah, those open air wards with the snow came out nice. So strange to see them now without all the beds lined up in them. Seeing it gutted definitely brought a new life to it. It was so clean inside and down to its barebones.

Thank you, much appreciated. Was supposed to renovated in the early 2000s but the developer skipped town and ownership was held up in court and during that time is when all the big fires happened. Such a shame.

This is sad in more ways than one. It must of really pulled at the heartstrings to see this hospital gutted and ready for demo after having family that worked there and visited there. Literally a piece of the neighborhood is now gone. Must of been how ol Radical Ed felt when Byberry came to its demise. I am sorry! I know it will be missed. Thank You for the last photos and the personal history.

It is so sad. It makes it even worse that this property was supposed to be renovated and reused. Before all the vandalism and scrapping, this was an absolutely beautiful place. A lot of people in this small town feel the same way. Everyone has a connection to it one way or another.

Demolition was delayed last week as they had discovered a small amount of asbestos they had missed. Physical demolition started yesterday and is expected to be finished Friday morning. I will be up there this evening to take some pictures of the progress. I will post them here when I get a chance.

Must have been pretty sad to visit a place that meant so much to you for the last time. At least you got some good pictures out of it, though. 14 and 16 are probably my favorites--I'm a sucker for hallway shots.

The graffiti in 10... "stay gold, Ponyboy" is a quote from what used to be one of my favorite books. Still, doesn't have any business on a wall.

Yeah it's been hard to watch all the destruction up there. I just hope we can put the land to good use after all the clean up. The consensus in the town is to turn most of the property into a park including a dog park and have a bandstand. As well as clean up the old patient walking trails.

This was taken yesterday evening

Kind of amazing that it lasted this long, honestly. This was the first place I ever ran from police, haha.

It was very hard for the town to secure the $2M to tear it down. It's a small town and 96% of all expenses in town are through local taxes so it took a long time. SO many people I went to school with were arrested here when I was growing up. It was almost a rite of passage in this town lol
