These pics are from this last weekend when my friend and I went down to an abandoned high-rise in Houston. The place is kinda a dump and its completely stripped but its a decent sunset/sunrise location in my opinion. Always interested in meeting with other explorers in the Houston area so hmu. Anyways I hope you enjoy these shots as much as I do.

I posted a few of these on my personal instagram @samuelbrasher Check it out if you're interested. Thanks for viewing and have fun exploring. Also, last time I posted people were mad that I was the "main focus" of the shot. To me I believe that it ads more artistic appeal so if you don't like it sorry but I'm not changing my style.

I learned a long time ago not to sweat what other people think so much when it comes to a lot of aspects in my life. That includes pictures I take. Take pics of what you want. Just remember that this being a public forum while we are allowed to take pics of what we want others are allowed to respond to those pics how they want.

It is up to you on how you will respond to that, and you have. I am glad to hear that you won't change your style. If you did it would not be your style.

Along those line, I hate visors, who ever that is needs to lose the visor. Commit to a hat or no hat. Sheesh!*

Edit:
Also to add, I think that some folks frown upon posting images of themselves while exploring because of legal issues. If I have learned one thing about these boards, they are all about tough love. Some of the comments come across stern, but a lot of times they are made with concern. Now that concern might be towards the subject not getting arrested or fined, or it might be focused on the location not getting sealed up due to trespassers.

*I kid. **

**Kind of, I do hate visors, but like your pics, wear what you want.

Hahaha thanks for the funny comment/advise! I'll make sure to keep wearing my ugly visor

Edit: I understand the concern aspect that you're talking about. If people are worried about this building being "compromised" I would like to say first and foremost that is already is.If anyone is interested in this building i'd advise visiting soon because getting in has been much harder ever time I have gone.

Number 3 is my favorite. Really nice. I'd try to hide places better, though. I found this in seconds as there are some dead giveaways in the photos.

People were mad last time you posted because you are a n00b rolling in here with an attitude and rudeness that screams stereotypical arrogant Instagram prick.

This one has a story to go with it. So it was like any other explore where you just causally hang around and take pictures and meet other people, but this time things went a little bit different. After getting to know some of the people and tricking them into thinking this wasn't photoshopped (not to mention I wasn't even wearing the same clothes) one of the kids said there were cops. My first reaction was well yea there's always cops driving by, it's Houston, but I soon realized he was right. My friend and I started making our way down the building pretty fast as I gave him the occasional "quiet the fuck down" as he walked heavily down the stairs. We heard what sounded like a radio nearing us as about halfway down the building so we crossed over to the opposite side to take the other stairs. We began to take my Plan B route which was sliding down a light post from floor 2, but as I looked down (no joke) I saw about 15 cops just standing there. I was forced to revert to plan A (The way that everyone came in). Obviously this is the most sketchy way to get out because its guarded but we had no other choice. So we approach the exit after walking through a pitch dark room with potholes and contemplated going out. I listened and hear another radio start to dim down. I remember thinking "this is it" as I walked out the door. There was a cop car sitting right at there looking at me... VACANT. I shat myself as my friend and I made our way across the street to blend in. We made our way back to the car and passed the cops we saw earlier. Every single person we had met up there that lefty before us was arrested and on their knees. We made our way back towards the building once inside the car and saw the rest of the people sitting there who came out after us. This means that we had the perfectly planned window of time to get out of there safely. So grateful to be out and safe and I hope they got off with warnings! Make sure to be safe out there guys!

This place is not Instagram. This is what your posts and Instagram comments summarize to read.

" Hi everyone, my name is Samuel Brasher from Houston Texas. My friend and I noticed the police arrive and the specific steps we took to escape so we can avoid apprehension. Here is my celfie and please see my Instagram for my criminal trespass Curricula Vitae "

You gave away an incriminating statement against your friend with the whole world and identified yourself. Do you really not see why other people have problems with your style?

As much as it pains me to do so, I'm going to come to the defense of TheArchitect. The guy issued a public apology, and then sent me a private message apologizing. I didnt respond because when I read it I didnt have time and then it fell off my radar so I'm going to take this opportunity to do so publicly.

Yes he came off as a total asshat and bursting onto the scene with a "look at me" attitude. It's not many people who would issue not only a public apology after the flaming he took much less reaching out to the people personally that he pissed off. I appreciate the humility and the recognition. I'm willing to accept the apology and forgive but not forget. For the time being I'm taking a wait and see approach. His last post was spot on with the norms of this site and he even had a nice photo that didnt feature him in it! He's off to a good new start and I think we should all give him another chance.

Personally, hes on a very tight leash with me but I'm willing to give him some more slack as I see his behavior get in line with the rest of us here. One fuck up and I'm done. Lets hope that it continues and we can all welcome a new explorer into our midst.

I understand why the thread before this went wrong. There is a reason it was closed. There is no need to try to remake it so please respect the fact that I apologized and move on. I don't want every thread I make to suffer the same fate because people bring it up again. Thanks for understanding.

It's fair to extend my reflection to his Instagram and Youtube since he shared them. Explorers who go to locations with the purpose of gaining followers at any cost are among the most harmful explorers. Immediate social media whoring is one of the greatest threat to exploration.

To be honest you are probably very right. I'm not going to do it again but I will post about exploring to my Instagram regardless. All I do is a picture at an abandoned building, tag the location as abandoned, and post some inspirationonal quote or something that sounds cool. I think I'm starting to get a feel for uer and now I know to take it on with a different perspective. Hopefully you can relate. Let me know

We have a hard boundary that revealing entry points or details is prohibited.

Many of us strongly disagree with the practice of ostensible public broadcasting of locations. We can't directly control what you do on Instagram. Myself and others who do not agree with your type of exploration method will just keep in our mind to make informed decisions knowing that any exploration missions or anything said to you about locations is blasted live to subscribers looking for locations and entry methods.

Is there still something wrong with just posting a picture with no context to the location? I understand your concern but I'm not sure if it's entirely reasonable to outlaw all public posts. I mean I'll follow the rules of the forum and everything but when it comes to making me stop posting about my photography I'm not so sure about it. I know this is just your preference but I'm trying my best to respect that while keeping what I want as well. Let me know what you think and I'll try to work with you on this.
