Although I only live fifteen minutes from this place, I haven't been able to summon the interest to visit before now, especially after the main building was burned out in 2014. The rest of the campus isn't in great shape either. There's almost nothing left in the way of artifacts or furniture, there's crummy graffiti everywhere, and two of the buildings were in the most advanced state of interior collapse I've ever seen. The external architecture and beauty of the campus itself made up for these shortcomings, though, and the discovery of an overgrown amphitheater deep in the woods (and a far more convenient way out) added some flavor. I wish I'd been able to see it ten years ago, or at least before the fire, but I'm glad I can at least cross it off my list now.
