Deep inside Germany stands this imposing villa. What surprised me is that in this region abandoned villas are standing right at busy streets but the vandalism is minimal. It's like there is no adventurous youth there.

WOW and WOW. Very nice villa. Sad it's left to ruin though. I wish someone with some money would fix that one up and give it some renewed love. But i'm not god. Nice pictures. I love the ceilings, and the stair railing is pretty wicked. Oh and the exterior, very detailed and luxurious. I wish rich people today would spend more money on exteriors with stone work than go with 15 bedroom homes that don't have much character.

These Big, Spacious Manors/Villa's always intrigue me. Love the iron-work on the stairwell. The molding is absolutely Grand in a lot of these rooms. That bathroom wasn't much though The Exterior really calls a person inside doesn't it !?!

Superb site and shooting

That's a real beauty inside and out.
What was that room(#10) used for?

Thanks for the positive words!

@SecretSanta, last thing I heard is that they started renovations!

@blackhawk, I think something like a library or archive.

I can't remember which old photographer said it, but I always remember a quote that was something about his desire to understand the language of light. The architecture inside and out is absolutely exquisite, but what really makes this a gorgeous set is your understanding of language of light.

I find the contrast of the fluorescent fixtures and such find craftsmanship rather odd. These photographs are great, especially 15.

Beautiful place. I also find the flourescent fixtures jarring in such craftsmanship.

Thank you man, that's quite the compliment!

Still find it funny how much attention the fluorescent light fixtures draw. I agree that they look pretty misplaced in such architecture, but I find it more fascinating that they've left the rest of the building in its original state! That's unimaginable in this day and age. I wonder what the new owners are going to do.
