RIVERVIEW RESIDENTIAL CABINS

One day while scouting locations at riverview i randomly decided to venture into one of the small residential cabins that sat tucked in the corner of the property. there wasnt much to see, although the one i entered looked like it had been affected by a fire at some point. each of the cottages, as they are called, had a cellar; although, i couldnt find where to access it from.

i forgot to take more pictures, but there wasnt much to see. i was surprised to find that they were still supplied with power and running water. 1.

Awesome! Nice to see someone manage to get inside of one of those houses. Ive been to riverview many times and have explored outside around them, but never got inside.

How is this even 'exploration'? It's a loving house you've already been in you weirdo!

Would that have been staff housing or for the really really really good patients?

The cabins or cottages that you are referring to were used to house staff, nurses mainly.

The other cottages that are operational are for out patients. So they see doctors because they have some sort of mental illness but they are well enough to live on their own.

Always wanted to make my way around the Riverview grounds. Seeing that there's still some interesting spots to explore intrigues me. Definitely have to make a trip that way soon.

Depending on the "cottages" they were either:

Program cottages ie: volunteer clothing, recreational therapy and life skills training such as menu planning and cooking to prepare for back in the real world etc...

Other cottages were for duty doctors who resided and rested there waiting for pager calls during non normal hours.

Some cottages are still in use. The ones along the upper drive are part of fpsc and house around 10 people currently.
