Buckstaff Furniture Property 1850-2011 - Demolished 2016/2017

A fellow explorer and I had a chance to visit Buckstaff in March 2016, five years after it had been abandoned. This by far has been my favorite exploration to date. There were multiple buildings on the property to explore. I was amazed by the lack of graffiti, lack of vandalism and amount of items left behind. I found numerous projects left unfinished on workbenches, jigs and some stock that had been left behind.

Buckstaff closed its doors in February 2011, after the electric company turned off the power for lack of payment. The doors never reopened. For five years the city fought a court battle to hold the owners responsible for its cleanup and to get it demolished. In late 2016, early 2017, Buckstaff met its fate as the property was demolished by the city.

Here are a few of several hundred photos I took that day.

Good stuff! Well done!

Crows stole my thunder. Again, Those B&W's are Awesome! Esp. # 4 and 20. Let me please direct you to the B&W thread on the main page I can see why you found this explore interesting. All those unfinished wood-working jobs makes you want to jump in and make something cool What a shame # 19 looks so cold and lonely. Really like that pic. Now, its gone

Thank you! I always struggle with presenting my work in B&W or color, usually create edits of both!

It is sad, would have loved to visited again in the summer time. BTW I like you work, and enjoyed your Podcasts a few years back.

I explored this place around the same time as you did. Here's my post if anybody is interested.

I was wondering if anybody knows if it is all the way demolished or if it is still explore-able because I wanted to head back for a third time with some friends this weekend.

I was there 2 days ago. It's mostly demolished. There are a couple buildings left but even those have begun to face the wrecking ball and look like they could fall over at any moment. I'd say it's not safe to venture in anymore.
