After a quick trip last week to this spot for a scout and a quick shoot, a return visit was in order to shoot in the day with some light. Archer, Nex and I headed out nice and early (after a sleep in) and with the mild winter weather, spent a good 5 hours roaming around and taking this sprawling place in. After hours of questionable air and a room full of foul smelling Raccoon shit, we headed back out in to the fresh night air, to celebrate with some beers and grub.

Great use of DOF. Let the Light In almost looks like a miniature.

This is one of the few places I've seen lately that has me checking flight prices. It's too high to justify right now but it's on my list.

Wow, thanks for all the kind words guys!

Yes, they indeed left a C-Arm behind and that was probably the most complete set up I've seen anywhere so far. Not sure why they left it behind, they took pretty much everything else to do with x-ray, catscan and the like.

All of these images were shot with a Canon 6D paired to a Sigma 50 1.4 ART. Love this combo, but wish I could have gone wider since my 35 is in the shop currently. Highly recommend the ART series from Sigma, fantastic glass for half the price of Canon and with a better warranty (7years)

Great Stuff here! Love the wavy desktop, the C-arm, and the specimens. Your shot cracked me up. Looks like you fainted dead away in that machine.

This seems like the kind of place you would find a orphaned source in. What is the story behind the hospital. Is there a reason why there is so much stuff left there?

These shots are awesome. There's just something about them that make me actually feel like I'm there. Inspiring stuff dude! I'll have to follow you on flickr.

ps the sigma 30mm 1.4 is a gem. Its definitely my next lens.

Thanks Zog, Haunted! No clue as to what is happening currently with the place, seems to be stalled. As for all the stuff left behind, it's unusual, most hospitals here tend to get rid of everything and fast so that stuff was still left was a nice treat.
