I thought this was a good day for this gallery. The title lies a bit - this is in Canada, not the United States. But... in the industrial manufacturing sector, it's the same shit, different country: free trade and no clear industrial policy. Sheet metal has been flapping in the wind for almost 10 years at this Canadian facility of a well-known U.S. heavy equipment producer. And of course, true to the standard cliche, it was Monterrey and Saltillo, Mexico, that became the end destination for this move and effectively killed 800 jobs here. And worse, this plant was the main purchaser of steel from another major corporate factory nearby, and caused its closure as well a few years later.
Photos were taken a few days ago.
Hope something here interests you.

This last shot is of the Niagara River - taken on the Canadian side, with the shoreline of the U.S. visible through the roots. Only time will tell what lies ahead for our camaraderie in the new Trump era.
