In the spirit of starting the year on the right foot, we spent the first day of the New Year checking out the few scattered and overgrown remnants of this once massive complex. There aren't a huge number of buildings left to see, but the sheer size of the campus prevented us from seeing more than the back half. We will have to make a return trip to see the more well-known section.

Awesome! I love rural locations like this. It must look gorgeous in summer when everything is green.

I'm certain it does, but I would hate to try going then. Even now, the approach path we used and the remaining buildings are completely inundated with thorns and other nasty undergrowth, so much so that we ended the day with scratches all over our legs despite wearing jeans. I'd hate to see what a mess it is in the summer.

Agreed; crazy overgrowth is nice to photograph, but winter exploring is just so much more fun. And less neighborly eyes to worry about because everyone half the population is hibernating! This is a perfect gallery set for a location like this. Just enough variety to keep the photos switching back and forth from full distance shots to close-ups. I like #3 the best for the combo of color, rust and light.

Some fantastic decay here, good shots! Love the water treatment building.
