OKAY APPARENTLY MY PICS ARE HUGE AND I APOLOGIZE.
MODS YOU CAN DELETE THIS AND I WILL REPOST WITH PROPERLY SIZED PICS LATER.
One day much earlier this year, I decided to drive around looking for an abandoned house around me, and I actually found one! There is not a lot of abandonment in this fairly wealthy area, so it was a nice find. It was spring at the time, and later in the summer the trees filled in and made the house more hidden from the rural street. That's when I went back (with my boyfriend) and actually explored the property. Unfortunately I don't know the history of this place.
Pretty hidden in the woods.
The old front porch.
The floors looked way too sketchy for me to feel comfortable walking inside, so I stuck to looking through windows.
It looks like a tree had fallen on the property, possibly the cause for abandonment?
The ceiling is very collapsed.
An old outbuilding knocked over.
This important feature remained standing, though.
And it's a double holer!
This must've been where they got their water.
There was a sink in the kitchen though, maybe a later addition?
So that's it for my first actual post with pics.
Being a new member, I'm not sure if/how often this place has been posted. There was no graffiti at the property, but a few pieces of litter signaled recent activity. If there's anything that I did wrong here, please bring it to my attention ASAP so I can correct my behaviour! Hopefully my pics resize themselves, 'cause ain't nobody got time for that. And I just learned that is no the case...
