2016 - A Life In Ruins

I've only got one more mission lined up to see the year out, which is pretty much the riskiest venture of the year for me and I have no idea at all how it will turn out (probably total failure). So in view of my pessimistic approach to the last one of the year I thought I would do this now.

2016 has been a strange year for me. I had a truly dreadful first few months in terms of finding time to get out and explore with people, and more often than not those days usually ended with frustration and failure for various reasons. I continued my now traditional two trips across the pond to visit my friends and explore some amazing stuff in the USA, and it was after my first trip in May that the year finally began to pick up for me. Somehow, some way, I managed to rack up a total of 83 explores this year (although it might be one more come Christmas Eve but don't hold your breath on that). Unlike last year which was my ultimate dream explore year this was probably the most frustrating I've had to date, but I saw some incredible places, explored with some wonderful people both old and new and had a lot of laughs along the way.

As usual, one photo per explore.

The numbers don't quite equal up because there were a few explores I did that really didn't warrant any photos being taken haha. It's been a great year, but I feel 2017 will be even better. To all who have enjoyed/put up with my photos this year, thanks

Seeing the photos, the great places made really up for the frustrating times

BTW, what kind of factory was #9?

Thanks yes lots of the locations I did see made up for the disappointing fails along the way.

#9 wasn't a factory :p , but if you mean the photo above (#8), that was a furniture factory which specialised in high end chairs. One of the most bizarre industrial spaces I've seen.

Damn you got to some great stuff this year, Unfortunately for me exploring in 2016 was pretty much non-existent.

Oh, my mistake. Strangely, it looks very similar to a cookie factory I've been years ago.

Amazing work Mook. Don't stop doing what you do. Most of us here dream of getting 83 explores in one lifetime, let alone in one year!!! Awesome dedication and pictures!

Man, some of you guys really set the bar high for the rest of us. If you had a rocky start to the year, you really managed to salvage it in a big way.

You never cease to amaze with all the locations you post... that Green moldy bedspread still is one of my faves, plus a whole lot more. Thanks for enhancing my viewing pleasure this year

Thanks all!

Unless something changes drastically I think the majority of my explores will be taking place in the USA next year...

WOW!

When I say I'm 'clean and sober', it means I've showered and I'm headed to the liquor store.

So much kick ass stuff here bud! Don't even know where to start. It was great to finally meet up and explore with you! We hit up some of my favorite spots that weekend. I may be over on your side of the pond next summer. If so I'll be sure to hit you up!
