This is one of the most impressive abandoned places we’ve visited so far! Already one hundred years ago cast was made in this iron foundry. Production was ceased in 1996 and the large area with numerous factory halls and a well-preserved melter was left to rot. In 2013 this place was resuscitated – well, at least for a couple of days. Artists from all over the world assembled for a street art festival. For a week they slept in tents, had a wash in the nearby (toxic) river and created a myriad of graffiti, murals and art installations. It’s mental! This street art festival is every year in another location by the way. Maybe we will pay a visit in 2017.

Damm that site looks amazing. Its always cool to see graffiti that is actualy good instead of tagging and outright vadalisim.
