First post!
I'm sure many of you have been here. It's an easy little trek to some cool houses. Just thought I'd share some pictures from last night.

I just went for the first time last weekend. Spooky enough in the late afternoon when I was there, it looks really creepy at night! The drive out is kinda nice too.

Is this pretty close to the Seattle area? If anyone wants to accompany me, I'd love to check it out. I haven't seen squat since moving here!

This reminds me of a town I went to in Oregon just a couple months ago. Same house shape and everything. It's a wonderful area, but I'm still having trouble finding other people to go with.

Been there several times. Great little place. I wouldn't recommend going in the winter, though. Wait until it's warm and if you break a sweat, take a dip in the river on the way back. Also, if you go in the dark, it's a lot harder to find the other cabins and the RV. *wink* *wink*

The story of this place is sad Land stopped being leased, RR snatched it up, and the only qualifying tenant was an old lady in her RV, her neighbors forced elsewhere until she eventually passed away.

On a side note, there's a clause with the RR/water reservoir that doesn't count it as trespassing, so no need to sneak in at night.

The structures are all (technically) off-limits, with signage on them saying so. And if you walk the tracks or the service roads west past the houses, you'll quickly run into "turn back now" signs forbidding trespassing on Watershed property. East of there, though, you're all good.

Yeah, kinda creepy, really. She would go out there and spend the summers by herself, then spend the rest of the year with family in Tacoma or someplace nearby. She was definitely a hermit by nature. Also heard that she had a house that burned. It was never clear whether that was some accident or an act of vandalism. Vandals were implicated in the burning down of the train station and several other structures out there. Wish I could have seen the place before that!

The old RV in the woods north of the tracks is one of the better-preserved artifacts there, mainly because it's almost impossible to find anymore unless you already know where it is. And there are two more small cabins near it.
