Haven't posted in quite a while - been pretty busy the last couple months and haven't been doing as much exploring photography.

But it snowed today, and I got a chance to take some photos of a abandoned stone mansion nearby - enjoy!

Nice shooting. Like the contrast a lot.
Looks like #5 was fighting you hard to square it off
lol, hard to square off a cattywampus building.

Yeah, this thing is a wood and stone structure, but the frame is a lot of wood and it's starting to really show its age. I wish they'd do something to preserve it - it has some historic value but not enough to make it worth fixing, I guess.

I use a Nikon D750 with a Tokina 16-28mm F/2.8 wide-angle zoom on it. I shoot RAW in a modified program mode designed to automatically adjust the ISO, shutter speed, and aperture to prioritize ISO-100 with the minimum required shutter speed to shoot hand-held.

I post-process by adjusting contrast and sometimes adding a light cross-process to highlight the color tone I want in the images.

No, sorry - I don't usually post the basic RAW output from the camera, since there's a lot of post work that goes into optimizing the image and then a little bit of artistic flair with color tone and what-not.

I might post a couple comparisons if you're curious about the process in general though.

Comparisons could be cool to see I am always interested to see what the pictures look like with minimal editing.

Here's a look into my process with a couple images.

The first image is straight off the camera, just off the RAW with default settings:

This next one is straightened, with contrast, exposure, color, etc. all adjusted.

And finally, I usually fine-tune the contrast and add some color cast/cross-processing effects to draw out the tone I'm looking for from the image.

Another example:

Off camera:

Cropped, color-corrected, exposure, contrast, etc.

And on this one I added a cross-processing effect that gives the image a kind of muted, yellowish cast:

Cool thanks. Editing has never really been by strong point its nice to see how people who actually know what they are doing go about making their pictures look amazing.
