So I've always been a big hiker guy searching for trails around GA to explore, take pictures and do some occasional not so safe climbing. But nowadays I've been searching for thrills in the urban jungle. The thing was that I never had any partners in crime that were willing to partake in the adventures with me so I never worked up the courage to go alone. Well that has all changed after one particular night after dance practice. I didn't want to go home so I decided to drive around the city to take pictures. That was going well but soon enough I found myself nearby my old apt complex and notice a construction site positioned ever so close. Inside the construction site there was a fairly tall crane used for construction things. I had always wondered what the view from the top of the cranes looked like and after working up the courage I decided that night was the night to find out. So I do my usual routine of scouting out the area I'm about to trespass to look for a few things: points of entrance, obstacles, security, cameras and eyes from the street. After about twenty minutes of that I decided it was time to just up and do it. So I climbed the fence into the construction site and snuck my way to the crane, making extra sure to pause and hide when crazy 3am runners pasted by the sidewalks. I got to the crane and found there was a fence around the crane. After about 10 minutes of checking that out I found a way to climb the barbed fence and access the ladder case system of the crane. The climb to the top was stressful to say the least. Not because of the acrophobia but because there was a huge fucking spotlight on me the entire way up. I was more afraid of eyes from the street than the fall. Though that drop was no joke. After getting to the top though...all that anxiety was well rewarded. It was some of the best views of the Atlanta skyline that I have ever seen. Unique to me to boot. After that craziness I've been searching up other places to check out to satisfy my adrenaline for sneaking and urban photography. Some of the places I've visited include train yards, unfinished bridges, abandoned prisons and haunted mansions.
