Going to revive an ancient thread because.

Nashville is amazing for Urbex, even only having been there once i see so many dead houses, shops, and factories (mostly around Marathon Motor Works/Antique Archaeology. On the other hand, Winston-Salem is dying, what with renovations and demolitions aplenty. Union Station is being renovated (which i would have it rather be redone than sit empty, this city needs a train station bad) and Bailey Power Plant is being redone (also cool, the whole thing will be renovated, but one of us was in there and got pictures) And the old RJR Building is almost totally renovated, and it's stunning (literally it's amazing the old art-deco interior)

Hi, just me responding to a months-old thread.

I'm trying to be a better explorer/mod person. Would any of y'all in Nashville be interested in a coffee/beer meetup? It'd probably be on a Sunday.

I'm free every Sunday if your still interested in a meetup! Maybe go to Sitar again? =)

So I am completely new to this forum. I started out by just wanting to look at pictures of local abandoned buildings here in Nashville to get rid of the urge to try urban exploring by myself since I don't have experience, but you can't see many pictures without being a full member and after reading up the requirements I have a way to go.
When I was a teen and lived in Arizona exploring abandoned buildings was a piece of cake. When there's less than ten people per square mile and most windows and doors are already broken there's not much stopping a bored kid from exploring. There's abandoned buildings on every road and was even a couple abandoned housing developments. Just have to watch out for snakes and dogs...
Anyways, I wanted to introduce myself and this seemed to be the perfect thread to do so and see if anyone would be interested in meeting up some time? It seems there's a bit of a circle of trust here and I like that so I'm not expecting to just go straight to exploring even though that'd be awesome (with some training!), but at the least it'd be great to meet up with a few people with similar interests for once.

EDIT: I also wanted to add that due to the amount of traveling I do to small towns in middle TN, thanks to my job, I know a few places that I think would be good to explore. I bet most, if not all, are already known and explored by everyone here but maybe I'm lucky and can provide a new suggestion. Like I know an abandoned hospital toward the southern border of TN where a new nursing home was built next to it. I do repair work for them at the newer place, maybe I could make a connection with someone there for permission. Just don't think I'm trying to say I'm some magical key to abandoned places, because I have no idea what they'd say I'm new to all of this. I'd love to explore places that we have permission to explore, but from the sounds of it there's not really a big number of places like that. Just... I'm an adult now, police records don't disappear when I turn a certain age anymore. Lol. Seems everyone here is very big on not stealing and not damaging property so I'm happy with that at least.

I'm not too far from Nashville. I grew up just north of it in Springfield. If you (or anyone else here) wants to try and meet up sometime, just let me know. I wouldn't mind the trip.

Take nothing but pictures, lea-

Yeah yeah, you know where I'm going with this

Not to slander anyone but be very careful who you go with a lot of the high end explorers like to steal thing's. I actually had a fallen out because I stood my ground on them and yea it kinda got ugly.
