I heard about these planes through a friend of a friend who lives near where they have landed. I was hoping someone in this incredibly knowledgeable community could help me with a more specific identification than "WWII Japanese fighter plane". Thanks for your help!

Great Photos!! I love these planes If they are the ones i think they are most of them are Fuji LM-1's. From what I read on wiki "27 LM-1's were produced during 1955/56" So this guy has quite alot of them but the Plane by the barn with the tiger on it is a T-33. Hope this helps a little

Thank you for the info! I honestly know very very little about cars and planes but I really enjoy coming across them.

Interesting. I thought that looked like a US engine.

That's pretty nuts, looks like there in someone's back yard. Good find

Collectors consider these warbirds although they aren't in the traditional sense.
These are cool little planes and a rare find.
The original US owner/collector is probably dead.
Wonder why they just sit there, corroding?

I actually ran across a website that says they're for sale (I have no idea how old it is and there isn't a date I could find anywhere on the site). They were moved from when Abandoned Apertures went, because he PM'd me some pics and it's definitely a different location Also, there was no plane with a tiger on it when I went. They were along the edge of some kind of vacant lot on a dead end street. It seemed miraculous that no one had vandalized them or stolen things out of them given the ease of access, no one even bothered me and my friend while we were walking around them, opening doors and compartments. The remoteness of the location is probably their saving grace. Not likely that random people would happen upon them out there.

Cool find! Love the inside shots with the gauges, knobs, switches and such.

Circa 50's, post WW2 Japan. See wiki link on my previous post.

Lol, did you have a pen in case you needed to defend yourself?

I wasn't sure how old the WEBSITE was, my bad the wording there is wonky lol No pens, just a tripod and my own feisty mental attitude.

If you have a spare 35k lying around you can have one!
