OK so it's not 'the' power plant that I was after - thanks to the fearsome new fence extension - but it'll do.

I was also very surprised that after seeing countless photos which only showed the big empty turbine hall and nothing else, just how much there is actually left to see in here if you bother to spend more than ten minutes wandering around. Essex was a wonderful guide as ever, and we even found the control room accessible which was a great little bonus.

We spent a lot of time on the roof also, which is an awesome spot.

some really good shots there...

I'm like #1 & #7 a lot.
These places are so huge it's tough to capture them with one shot even with a FF/wide angle lense.
The control rooms are really tough in that respect.
Unfortunately this control room was "upgraded".

The Chester Power Station still has its original control room intact. It was concerted to offices about 12 years ago but they elected to save to whole control room. It's wild. It has the white/red ball electromagnetic power indicators. The cloth/rubber wiring and panels are gorgeous.
Many other features have been saved in this one of a kind, flagship art deco style station. It's the cats ass of the East coast stations.

Awesome set, bro! I remember when there wasn't one speck of graffiti in the entire structure.

That was an amazing set! On the first photo, I thought you colour-dropped certain channels to highlight the graffiti. But the rest of the gallery made me realize 'Nope... just a whole lot of glorious concrete!'

Much better location than I initially thought as well. I particularly enjoyed the basketball court and roof.
