In my city, the homeless are being run out of everywhere, even the underneath of bridges. The city is building a rail trail that cuts through under the bridge forcing the squatters out. Me and my friend thought it would be good to document the world under this bridge before it was gone, as disgusting and sad of a world it is.

After the bridge we explored a bit nearby but didn't find much, until we stumbled upon something quite peculiar...

Paper bowls full of cat food

And whats that?

Ah! It's one of the cats!

It looks like someone comes out here to feed them everyday maybe?

Probably...

Ok definitely.

Bonus pic: For anyone who was wondering what is on the back of my friends jacket...

It was a good run that day. Thanks for looking.

Gotta be honest with you, I was expecting more from a grand title like "Entering the Underworld of a City" Decent photos though. Its a curious, yet sad experience encountering the camp of a displaced person. I always feel strange about being there and never explore it any further without them being there. In a sense, it's like walking through someone's living room and taking pictures. It would be awesome to sit and talk with them. I bet they have some stories.

Also, those bowls look like they're all Styrofoam. what a mess

Wow, I see this in Philly all the time. The catfood bowls, the homeless under the bridge, all of it. Looks the same, too. So sad. I hope both the cats and the homeless make it through another crushing Massachusetts winter.

the graffiti, the bridges, and the homeless are a common site indeed, but the cat food bowls? and the habit?

that behavior is incredibly meticulous (lined up in a straight line, filled at certain times each day, and consistent) while also being incredibly illogical... why not use 1 or 2 bowls over and over again? i'm assuming the feed is coming from an outside source and is transported in the bowls. and why not clean up?! obviously, i am not looking for answers from the crew here, i just find it so interesting.

wow, so many empty cat bowls!
Maybe when you were exploring, lots of cat-laser eyes kept eye on you.
