A random find while exploring a small farming community on the edge of town. A quick check of Street View shows occupants in 2011, but Google hasn't passed by since, it may have been abandoned any time between then and now. The acreage is now listed for $800,000. Many clues suggest that demolition is in progress. Satellite view imagery from 2016 shows an additional structure on the property that is no longer there, the lower floor of the home has been completely stripped of carpet, drywall, and plumbing. The upper floor is still fully intact besides the usual vandalism. While roaming the halls upstairs I made direct eye contact through a shattered window with the neighbor who was sipping a beer on his front patio, without a word he immediately stood up and walked inside his home. I took a couple more pictures and quietly made my way downstairs and out onto the road, as I took a look back over my shoulder the man emerged from his home, eyes tracking me, with a cordless phone pressed to his ear. To be honest, I hope it was the cops on the other end of the line and not Shotgun Sam down the street, out on the edge of town you've got plenty of time to scram before any city patrol can get there, it's rural crime watch you need to watch out for.
