Yongnuo tends to be very cheap. I always buy their speedlight flashes. Sometimes you get really good ones but other times, parts start falling off after a couple weeks of use.
I would definitely try it for $50 though. Considering the cannon version is like $500

Yeah for $50 I'd give it a try, expecting very very little

I did not find any bad review on it. I'll post back when I get one

I love the 50mm lens on film camera but on digital it's a bit too zoomed.

I have a YN 50mm 1.8 which is a clone of the Canon one but at a cheaper price. Besides some harsh aberrations its a good lens. The 35mm will probably be made as good as the lens it is cloning.

Well the Canon EF 50mm 1.8 is cheap and plastic to begin with. I have the non-STM version and auto-focus is loud as hell which is like the knock off you're trying to buy. You should be able to find a used one for $50-60.

You can also get the nearly silent non-rotating front element EF 50mm f/1.8 STM or EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM (to get you to the same view as 45mm in film) for under $100 at their refurb store with warranty.
